| An exhibition on decay and resilience How do we continue to live in a world under increasing pressure? Nature offers a surprising answer: even in places that appear irreparably damaged or abandoned, it almost always finds a way to return. From 9 November 2025 to 12 April 2026, CODA Museum Apeldoorn presents , an exhibition that invites visitors to journey past powerful, thought-provoking works by seven artists and artist duos. Together they reflect on how we view nature, how we are part of it, and how, as human beings, we so often seek to influence, control, or reshape it. Some works highlight hopeful collaborations between people and the natural world, while others emphasise the irreversible damage already done by human intervention. A number of pieces draw on new technologies and partnerships with scientists, giving form and meaning to fresh ideas and perspectives. Expect to be surprised, moved and inspired by art that raises urgent questions about our shared future, our place in the world, and what we can learn from the resilience of nature. Participating artists Suzette Bousema, Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, Driessens & Verstappen, Maartje Korstanje, Otobong Nkanga, Zeger Reyers, Diana Scherer. Opening The mushroom at the end of the world will be opened on Sunday 9 November at 2.30 p.m. at CODA Museum. The opening will include a performance by opera singer Shahram Yazdani, who also provided the vocals for Forest on Location by Margit Lukács and Persijn Broersen, on show in this exhibition. Abel Tuinstra accompanies Yazdani on the piano. |
